Silicone spray, in non-aerosol, water-based form, is the most  common form of treadmill lubricant on the market, though wax-based lubricants are available.
Paraffin WaxJad Fitness, Inc. offer consumers the choice between silicone or paraffin wax treadmill lubricant for home and commercial models. As of October 2010, Teflon Coatings Lube-n-Walk paraffin wax lubricant for the home treadmill model is priced at $17 for a six-month supply, while the commercial paraffin wax lubricant is priced at $20 for a one-year supply. Both kits contain applicator wands and instruction guide.
Paraffin Wax PowderTreadmill Deck Paraffin Wax Lube -- Ultimate Wax Powder -- is a another alternative to spray, oil-based, or silicone lubricants. ExpertFitness UK retails this product for $14 as of October 2010. It is recommended only for treadmills with phenolic, hardboard and Ceramic Coatings plyboard decks and non-silicone-based belts.  The 250 ml plastic bottle has enough applications to last over a 12-month period and can be used for either home or commercial model treadmills.
